Interested parties can now select the product base model for their vessel installation by using the Gyroscopic Stabiliser Unit Sizing Chart, which is available for download. This will allow designers or owners etc. to quickly select which base unit out of ten supplied by Ship Dynamics is most appropriate for a vessel installation. The selection procedure is based on the required heel angle capacity. This heel angle capacity is easily converted into a heel moment requirement provided the displacement and GMt are known.
Selecting the appropriate base unit also depends on the vessel's natural roll period, which may be difficult for some to predict where the vessel is still in the proposal or design stage.
